mamacoca is: Graham Sinclair (Bass) Adam ‘Drummer Boy’ Sinclair (Drums/percussion) Edd Carr (Guitars) James Peacock (Keys) f’reez (Vocals) mamacoca began as a writing project involving Adam, James & f’reez, supported by eegluu:records. 2 months and 2 songs later, as Graham and Edd jammed with them for another venture, mamacoca made her case to be borne instead. So strong was the chemistry that it prompted a decision not just to form a 5-piece, but also to go for the kill with a full album. This was January 2007. So it continued as the five talents, with a cumulative total of 77 years of live stage experience in 7 countries, drew inspiration from Herbie Hancock to Led Zeppelin and to Stevie Wonder, to write and produce a funky union of Soul & Jazz. This was March 2007. Bursting with enthusiasm, they announced thier arrival onto the recording scene with tunes still evolving with their moods, reminiscent of their forms on stage. As each song moulded into being, gems of stories crystallized within them, culminating in a product of familiar distinction. This was May 2007. Their ‘Secrets’ are now out. But as you sample the feel of mamacoca on record, know that she is only complete when heard in her natural habitat – on stage. |

Chandi can't recognize herself when she thinks back no more than a year to the quiet, normal and slightly geeky girl she describes herself as back then. Now, with the acclaimed Break em Down video single all over the airwaves, Chandi has the cheerful appearance of a girl who's getting her point across. "It's about strolling out of the box into the open air, and not being a media casualty. We seem to have struck a note." she says proudly, and the sound of this offering and its charming video have definitely stuck the right note for 2007. "Sometimes you wake up and feel like you're having the public thought, and wonder how helpful that is to you, and how it might be on the other side of the wall. It's about using technology for the good in a non- paranoid way with humanity - defining yourself in your own way." |

“Superior electronica from the very clever Glenn Gregory. Nobody Loves You and Where I Belong are blissful dreamscapes” Sunday Express *** “Ear catching instrumentals, bubbling sequencers, cinematic synth washse and strong vocal cuts” Mojo “This is a blissful album which is a masterpiece of precise musicianship” The Sun “Their laid back charm is matched to ampedup energy and solar spendour results” The Daily Mirror “Honeyroot have quietly infiltrated the dance scene and will soon be solidly placed amongst the biggest dance acts of the UK. Each track shows Honeyroot to be in a league of their own. This album is a true thing of beauty . There is nothing bad about this album; it is a work of calculated genius.” Subba Cultcha “Honeyroot are seriously good. The Sun Will Come is a hot weather record, a soundtrack to deserted beaches, sands and sunrises. Lovely, it may shimmer like a heat haze but it has real substance” Orange.**** |

BACK DOOR SLAM are teenagers Davy Knowles (guitars, vocal, mandolin, lap steel), Ross Doyle (drums) and Adam Jones (bass), all hailing from the small-but-perfectly-formed Isle of Man*... (*to find the tiny isle, go to Liverpool and look out to sea - you might even see Douglas bay on a clear day!) Brought up on a potentially overindulgent appetite of Everything Blues, they're now using their precocious talents to create their own mindblowing brand of contemporary/traditional blues-rock. The result is a sound reminiscent of the greats (BB King, Howlin Wolf, Jimi Hendrix, SRV) but with a big fat nod to the modern music and songwriters they all share a love of (Clapton, Knopfler, Mayall, Mayer). With this exciting mix fronted by the extra-ordinary vocal and guitaring talent that is Davy K, and armed with a scutch of hit songs under their youthful belts, you won't know whether to holler for joy or scream in envy at the perfect musical package that is Back Door Slam. |

Born in Israel, living in London by way of Mexico, with a non-musical career including the army, modelling, and healing…Tally is a multi-talented singer-songwriter. Her sound crosses over between lounge, pop, dance and club – her new single even brings classical: ‘You Are My Only One’ develops a riff from Tchaikovsky’s Swan Lake, making it less sugary along the way, and adds lyrics. The track has a club remix by Matt Saunders, and a dance remix by Phill Curran. On all three, the vocal ranges from breathy and atmospheric to soaringly upbeat, while the tempo moves from slow and dreamy to an almost middle-Eastern and Asian percussive beat. It completely stands out from the crowd. She has a distinctive voice with depth, softness and emotive resonance that might be likened to Marianne Faithfull, Alison Goldfrapp and Julie London, with a spark of Nico.Tally’s first album, ‘Timeless Melodies’, was picked up by EMI/Splash in Korea. On it, Tally wrote, produced and edited some of the most beautiful melodies by the great composers, turning them into songs. |
